People That Know What They’re Doing

Make life easier…

At least it seems that way. Someone who knows what they’re doing seems to flow through the obstacles of life.

The reverse unfortunately also happens to be true.

Which makes me want to ask – Can the people that don’t know what they’re doing please stay off to the side and figure things out without causing a traffic jam?-)

Traffic Jams

Let’s stick with the driving analogy for a bit.

I’ve already trained one driver and am in the process of teaching a couple more – so I get that there will always be inexperienced drivers on the road.

I also get that people unfamiliar with an area might not know how to best make their way through it.

But what’s up with those locals that drive the same route, to and from work, day after day and constantly act like it’s their first time? You’d think that they’d have the confidence and experience, enforced by repetition, to know what they’re doing and where they’re going. (And not cause perpetual delays and problems for others)

Careers

The same thing seems to occur in business. Those that know what they’re doing get things done correctly and on time (and often under budget). They make any cooperative work as painless and productive as possible.

Then there are others that should know what they’re doing – but seem to thrive on delays, chaos, and making things difficult for everyone else.

Cavorting

And yes, I’m certain that life isn’t all about rushing from place to place – but I say do it with intention and consideration.

Just because you want to lounge around all afternoon on the beach, doesn’t mean you should setup in the middle of the flow of traffic.

By all means choose a nice out of the way restaurant to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends.

And then when you get going again, if you happen to need to figure things out, pull off to the side to review the map. You’ll be in a good position to figure out where you are, what you’re doing, and how you’ll manage the situation;-)
