Foggy Coincidence

When visual imagination becomes reality

In the spring of 2007 I put down in words a concept that had been tumbling around in my head for a while – that I’d live my life in the moment and to heck with worrying about what’s beyond in the “fog”…

This past summer that image came back to me with surprising clarity.

Morning run

I’ve gotten into a habit of running several times each week. Spending different days working on distance, pace, hills, or speed. For my speed workout, I’ve taken to a small park nearby that provides about a mile warmup and a 400 meter “loop” across the grass.

On the day in question, the air was cool and humid…

Running full speed into the fog

And it was with a great big grin that I began running that day and realized that I truly was running with all the speed I could manage into the fog… No worries, no regrets, and plans only for the next half hour or so.

There are very few coincidences…

And to drive the point home, that day I found this blog with a zen focus that helped show me that my progress was right on the path. And habit number 2 – exercise, because “It helps with creativity.” – I’m on board with that one!

Try it

And so on my say so, I’d like you to write out what you see happening. Take the thought in your head and instantiate it on paper.

And then live your life.

Let me know how you do – I’m certain some of you will be able to describe it becoming a reality soon enough.
